1948 Lincoln Continental V12 - ONE OWNER 65 Years! NR

SELLING AT NO RESERVE! A 1948 Lincoln Continental V12 - ONE OWNER 65 YEARS!

The 1939–1948 Continental is recognized as a "Full Classic" by the Classic Car Club of America, one of the last-built cars to be so recognized.

As of 2015, the 1948 Lincoln Continental and 1948 Lincoln are the last cars produced and sold by a major U.S. automaker with a V12 engine.

Purchased by the current owner in 1950, when the original owner joined the military for the Korean war, this excellent original example has been lovingly preserved. The engine and transmission were rebuilt approximately 6 years ago, and driven only 400 miles since that time. Running and driving very well, this is a very original surviving treasure.

1952 Jaguar XK120 - Open Two-Seater Named "Lady Mary"

On  the 30th of May in 1949, on the empty Ostend-Jabbeke Motorway in Belgium, a prototype XK120 timed by the officials of the Royal Automobile Club of Belgium achieved an average of runs in opposing directions of 132.6 mph. XK120 roadsters averaged over 100 mph for 24 hours and over 130 mph for an hour, and in 1952 a fixed-head coupĂ© took numerous world records for speed and distance when it averaged 100 mph for a week. And so on and so forth.

If you are an aficionado of things Jaguar you already know about Williams Lyons, the first post war Jaguar sports car, the legendary 3.4 litre 210 horsepower OHC 6 cylinder, etc.

May I introduce you to "Lady Mary"...She has been sleeping for a little over 20 years. Her make up is beginning to crack, her bright spots are a bit tarnished and her trim...well, it isn't.

We removed this wonderful lady from her long sleep very carefully, resurrected the drive train with great care, and barely cleaned the residue from her long slumber. And now I am pleased to report she runs like a lady, and a very fast one at that.

Respectfully Yours,
Jim Cox

The 1936 Ford Cabriolet...It's A Wonderful Old Car!

1936 Ford Cabriolet …It's a Wonderful Old Car!
Another featured beauty at the upcoming Branson Auction on October 16 & 17 is the 1936 Ford Cabriolet! A V8 with NO RESERVE!

And its story is just as wonderful. This 1936 Cabriolet was owned by a gentleman from a nearby town here in Southern Missouri, and it was his pride and joy. The family memories are numerous and heartwarming. From an ownership standpoint it can be said with great assurance that his care and service was thorough and of high quality and is evident in the first drive. It starts on the first touch, settles into a good idle, shifts with ease and with the 2 speed rear axle can travel our highways at modern speeds. It is a driver’s car and it's selling with no reserve!

About the 36 Ford Cabriolet:  The 1930's marked important changes in the automotive industry and important changes to Ford. With the Model T and Model A behind them, Ford competed rather well with Chevy for the sales lead. New styling, a new engine, and changes overall to ride and appearance made these Fords from 1932 to 1939 quite popular. The look was updated with a new grill, and a number of new body styles. The Cabriolet, a two door convertible coupe with seating for four was one of the most sought after for it’s sportiness as well as it’s practically. Originally equipped with a 221.0 cu in. V8 producing about 85 horsepower, the car presented here is equipped with a later model flathead V-8 rated at 110 H.P.

Car Collectors Rolling Into Branson Again in October for 37th Annual Fall Collector Car Auction

Branson, MO – For the 37th year running, car collectors will be rolling into the Branson Convention Center again for the bi-annual Branson Collector Car Auction on October 16 and 17, 2015. Pristine classics like the 1941 Cadillac, 1951 Crosley, 1931 Chevy Roadster, 1951 Buick and Corvettes from years 1965-1982 Corvettes will be rolling across the floor to take center stage for what has come to be recognized as one of the top ten collector car auctions in America. The 2015 Spring Branson Auction resulted in the sale of more than 67% of its consignments.

Owners Jim and Kathy Cox have historically attracted more than 5,000 collectors, consigners, bidders and car enthusiasts to Southwest Missouri twice a year for Spring and Fall live auctions that are praised in many collector car circles coast to coast. More than 250 must-have sports, muscle, vintage, classic, custom and antique automobiles make their appearance and are bid on by enthusiasts, collectors, and gearheads from around the world.

The 2015 recipient of the prestigious Lee Iacocca Award, Jim Cox is world-renowned for his acute knowledge and expertise in the manufacturing, mechanics, performance, restoration, and valuation of autos dating back to their origin, including everything from American- and European-made to elite imports and celebrity rides. In fact, owners have proclaimed Cox’s ability to circle the wagons, so to speak, to get a car in shape for prime time at showcases when there was no other hope.

“I’m a gearhead. I’ve always been a gearhead. From the moment I stepped foot in a garage to work my way through school, I fell in love with the design, mechanics, and restoration of everything from race cars to classics I grew up in, even motorcycles or nearly anything motorized with wheels,” says Jim Cox, President and CEO of Branson Auction and Branson Collector Cars. “I’ve never fallen out of love either. I continue to cherish the memorable vehicles that have crossed my path in my lifetime, and I endeavor to make sure they get in the right hands of those who will love and care for them as much as their owners and I do. It’s not so much that we own this pieces of history, but rather caretakers.”

The 37th Bi-Annual Branson Auction will be held at the Branson Convention Center in downtown Branson, MO, and consignments are now being accepted. Beginning at noon on Friday October 16th and 10:00 am on Saturday, October 17th, the event is open to the public at a price of $10 or $15 for a 2-day pass. Tickets are on sale at the venue at 10:00 am on Friday and 8:00 am on Saturday. The consignment list is available for preview at www.BransonAuction.com and is updated regularly between now and the October event along with historical auction results.

Car owners can consign up to the day of the sale or in advance by calling 800-335-3063, or by visiting www.BransonAuction.com and clicking the “Consign” tab. Friday consignors pay a $500 entry fee and zero commission with high bids paying 100% to the seller. Saturday consignors pay a $300-$500 entry fee and 8% commission with reserve or 6% with no reserve. All bidders pay a registration fee of $100 which is refunded with the purchase of a vehicle.

This event is sponsored by Summer Winds Resort, Passport Transport, JJ Best Banc, Branson Airport, and the Hilton Downtown Branson, and hosted by Jim and Kathy Cox of Branson Collector Car Auction in Branson, MO.
