1957 Oldsmobile 88 Golden Rocket 88 at Branson Auction This Weekend!

1957 Oldsmobile 88 - Golden Rocket 88 - at Branson Auction This Weekend!

For 1957 only, the basic 88 was officially named Golden Rocket 88, taken from Olds' 1956 Motorama two-passenger show car. However, the only badging was an "88" underneath each taillight. Also for 1957 the "J2" option was offered, with three 2-barrel carburetors, similar to the Pontiac Tri-Power. Styling highlights were more evolutional than radical overall with three-piece rear window styling utilized on some models. Retaining the 371 V8, 3 two barrel carburetors, hydramatic transmission, and power steering, this nicely finished custom features a recent refinish, fresh interior, Vintage air conditioning, Dolphin instrumentation, and new wheels and tires.

On Consignment at Branson Auction October 16-17: 1953 MG TD Roadster

Finished in British Racing Green over London Tan interior. Nothing has been spared in the restoration of this beautiful classic British Roadster. It underwent a 3 year restoration by a master British car restorer. Over 100 photos of the complete restoration from beginning to end. One of the best examples of a true MG TD Roadster. The rest of the story. TD23580 carries a previous salvage title, which, as you know, we do not allow. Once you examine over 35 pages with hundreds of photos and hundreds of invoices I think you will understand why I let this one in.  Jim Cox

A RARE 1957 Chevy Bel Air Convertible - A True American Classic at Branson Auction 10/16-17!

This rare convertible was an early 1957, actually built at the Atlanta plant in November of 1956. It is believed that this car was one of the less than 75 fuel injected convertibles due to items like the special hood support relief and factory holes drilled to accommodate a special air intake inlet snout.

In the late 1990’s the car was treated to a very detailed body off frame rotisserie restoration, with most every nut & bolt replaced. It was then fitted with a vintage 1957 engine (block 3731548) dated h 8 57 and only used in 1957.

The engine is a 283 cubic inch with 1957 power pack heads and 1957 Rochester 4 jet carburetor, with dual stainless exhaust, and correct oil bath air cleaner assembly.

This is a highly optioned car, and is a joy to drive. As an investment, these cars continue to hold their value as one of America’s most iconic cars. Much more information is available with this great drop top.

It is one of the many consignments to be offered at the upcoming Branson Auction on October 16 & 17, 2015 at the Branson Convention Center. For registration, consignments, accommodations, and more information, visit www.bransonauction.com or call 800-335-3063.
